extracting attachments from Apple Mail as file

I am trying to extract an attachment from emails as a file. I want to
be able to put the file path into a variable that I can then import
into a Filemaker database along with subject, sender, message etc. I
can get everything except the attachment. Any help here would be
greatly appreciated.
