I checked into this first, assuming that it would be a standard option for
ping. But it doesn't appear in the man page in Panther and using -w returns:
ping: illegal option -- w
If you mean [-i wait], then that is to set the gap between sending out
packets and I'm only sending 1.
If you think about it, setting a timeout for ping wouldn't make sense. When
you check your network you need to know if packets are being lost or delayed
:-)
