i think if you can't find a way to find lame without looking
everywhere, you should ask the user to find it.. in the bundle is
probably better, or you could include an installer with your script
that puts the version of lame you want in the place you'll look (some
users may have multiple versions of lame, after all)
also, take a look at how iTunes-LAME Encoder handles this issue:
