Well, since this is using Apple Events as a mechanism, why not disable those
too.

Or an Apple-event whitelist/filter as I described earlier?

Although I don't see how that's necessary for your own scripts, only for scripts run from elsewhere. ML only runs your own scripts, according to Peter B.
