Photoshop - elliptical selections

  • Subject: Photoshop - elliptical selections

I've posted a query to the Photoshop scripting forum but got nothing useful
from it in 36 hours...

I want to make an elliptical selection in a Photoshop document.

Selecting a *region* is easy. Selecting a region with loads of corners is
easy. But selecting a circle is proving to be tricky :-(

At the moment I'm having to use a JavaScript kludge to make the selection.

Anybody know if there is a direct AppleScript method of specifying that a
selection should be elliptical rather than rectangular?

There's nothing in the dictionary or the documentation that comes with the
scripting plugin.

The JavaScript reveals that PS recognizes a difference between 4 points that
are "Rctn" and 4 that are "Elps" but I can't incorporate this stuff into AS.

Am I missing something obvious?

Regards
