I wrote some some data to a text file and it appears as:
http://www.sonymusic.com/

but when I copy and paste it into a browser it shows up as:
(null):http://
www.sonymusic.com%0 0/

I can see the original URL in the string but it has been transformed
with all the ''s.
Does anyone know what has happened here? Has something gotten corrupted?

It got written out as Unicode text.
How are you producing the data?

I use an applescript to gather information from Safari windows and then write it to a text file. The window URL is gathered by AS directly with:
get URL of document 1
but also manually input a title with a display dialog which I believe now returns unicode text, right? But it then formats all the data this way?
Thanks.
