At 12:39p +0100 05/24/2004, James Partridge didst inscribe upon an electronic papyrus:

I'm new to this list and new to AppleScript (although so far impressed by it). I'd like to ask one relatively simple question, hopefully without starting a flame war. If I had to justify learning AppleScript as opposed to, say, Perl, what sort of arguments would list members suggest I used. There are a few comparisons on the web but they seem very out-dated to me (i.e., they seem to have been written several years ago at best).

* To whom must you justify?
* What sorts of projects do you wish to tackle?
* Vy do you feel ze need to chuuz between zeez languages?
