US keyboards may not have the ALT label inscribed on the option key.
I have an Australian keyboard and the option key has both the 'alt' &
'option' label printed on the key. 'alt' being above the 'option' text,
though normally, and traditionally Macs only had 'option' as the key
text.

Nit: Macs do not have "alt" keys; PCs do. Macs have "option" keys.
Period.
The key is labeled both alt and option on my keyboard (stock
keyboard
that came with the iMac).
I've been told by some Europeans that (some?) Apple keyboards from
recent
years have only "alt", not "option".

Mine (Spain) has "alt" and the squiggly thingy glyph.
