At the beginning of this year, Mark Butler encountered problems while renaming items within a folder having folder action(s) attached. [1]

It appeared that renaming an item triggers two consecutive events, i.e. "removing folder items" and "adding folder items".
As a result, it proved extremely hard to simultaneously handle item renamings as well as true add/removes within a single folder.

The conclusion was thus that it would be handy to have a distinguished event for item renamings, with its companion "on renaming folder items..." handler.
So that each basic (basic from a user's point of view) action upon folder items -opening, moving, closing, adding, removing, AND renaming- would have its corresponding event.
