HTML is merely text, but Applescript will not run on your remote webserver and opening port 80 from inside a firewall to allow this to run on your Mac may be an issue with some companies.

Try a UNIX solution like Perl. This way it'll run on your webserver whether it's Mac, Windows or UNIX. PERL is quite a good text processor.
