In my particular usage I went with curl because it was trivial to read the man page, find a couple of well documented examples on the web and implement in about 10 minutes.


The more I can do with a relatively simple and well documented (with examples) command line string rather than spending 1/2 an hour or more (possibly MUCH more) searching for an example of a poorly documented AS implementation the better.
