newbie question

Hello,

I have just started using Applescript yesterday.

I am writing a script that copies a file from one folder on one Mac to another folder on another Mac, and then opens that file in a specific app. I made two separate scripts, which are both folder actions. The first one which copies the file to the other machine whenever a new item is added to that folder works fine. The second folder action which is on the destination folder works as well, however it starts to open the file before the file has finished copying, resulting in an "unexpected end of file" error.

Is there a simple command I can use to make the script wait until the entire file has been received before opening? I was thinking of using the file size as the key, but that would limit me to that specific size.

thanks very much
Paul
