I talked to a rep from National Instruments at a user group meeting several months ago and he told me that OS neXt support was pursued because of a clear lack of user interest. He suggested that interested folks express their wishes. It is probably possible to port LabView from UNIX to OS neXt. The chance of that being AppleScriptable are pretty small. Has anyone scripted X11 with those GUI commands?
Their stuff is expensive and to do any serious programming - dragging icons around - you need to have a developer version. It's main purpose is control of, and processing of data from, electronic instruments that connect to it over one of several hardware busses, VME, PXI, VXI, Ethernet, IEEE488. . .
