Well, your address wasn't in the archives until you quoted it into the part
of the message which gets archived. The Mailman personalization footer
thing doesn't get into the archive. I'd say "check the archives", but
"The Applescript-users Archives
No messages have been posted to this list yet, so the archives are
currently empty."
isn't very informative. What that line does do is--along with other
features--give list administrators a fighting chance to work out what
address is on a list, which causes problems after a few forwards along the
way.
You may be in luck, in that the copy of your address you added to the
archives is probably going to be obscured from the current generation of
address harvesters which look at web pages. That should happen to the
attribution lines as well (as above).
