Hmmm. And yet not one of my SE prefs is set to 18pt; the largest is 16pt,
and that's only for uncompiled text that you should never see; the rest 12,
13 and 14pt:

    Arial;p;16 -- new text
    Geneva;p;14 --operators
    Helvetica;b;14 -- language
    Geneva;p;14 -- applications
    Arial;p;13 -- comments
    Geneva;p;13 -- values
    Geneva;p;14 -- variables
    Geneva;p;12 -- references

Methinks that Entourage on my end and Mail on your end, and who knows what
the server might be doing, is changing things during transmission.

I still see value in preventing line wraps, so I would like to make RTF work
when posting code; otherwise I'm content with plain text.

I have discovered that swapping out script format styles is pretty much
unnecessary with Entourage. I can use whatever I want on my end, and when I
copy/paste a script into a message, I can do one of two things:

1) create a new message or reply in plain text (my default setting), paste
in the script, then set formatting to 'HTML' (RTF, whatever); Entourage
preserves lines, but disposes of fonts and colors.

2) In order to preserve fonts and colors, I can first create a new message
or reply, switch to HTML/RTF, then paste in the text, then select the pasted
script text, and use the 'Smaller' command to shrink it and just let others
enlarge it as required.

Honestly, I get tired of fixing line wraps when pasting other's scripts into
SE (especially Gnarlie's complex samples), so I look forward to taking
advantage of this outcome.

Here's a question: I was quite surprised to learn Paul B. uses the default
formatting styles; is he the only one? I thought everyone hated the defaults
and changed them within minutes of trying to script seriously. Seems like
just about every AS book or primer article I've read suggests this in the
first few paragraphs or chapters.

Thanks for the feedback.
