I believe error number -2710, "errOSACantCreate", is a dynamic AppleScript error (typically showing at runtime) - and suggests a problem with the data. More than that, I can't really say - since I don't know Barcode. I suppose you've tried checking Barcode's AS dictionary - to compare the supplied data with what's required/expected in the OS X version?
