application file id no go?

  • Subject: application file id no go?

Hi,

I have one user who gets an error when my script does this:

tell application "Finder"
	application file id "InDn"
end tell

The error is: "Finder got an error: An error of type -10814 has occurred."

This is on Mac OS X. I've been using this for years in other scripts before and I've never seen such errors. I asked the person to run InDesign (the target of code "InDn") manually before to make sure it can run and that it is registered with the OS launch services database. I made him reboot. I also made him delete the two com.apple.LaunchServices.LocalCache.csstore files and reboot. Nothing worked.

It's the only user who gets the problem, although admittedly I have only three users (testers) for now. :)

So is this a bug in Mac OS X?

Steve
