In the AS Studio Reference Guide (page 36), we have
"NSReceiverEvaluationScriptError (1)--the object or objects specified by the direct parameter to a command could not be found"
It's a bit cryptic and I'm afraid I can't be any more help than that.

It seems to only occur when the script in question is run while the screen is asleep.
