Hi Dan,
In addition to the other suggestions you have had for scheduling
scripts I invite you to take a look at a shareware application I
publish called "Script Timer". You can find it at the web site in my
signature. Its scheduling engine runs with you as the owner, so you
don't have problems running scripts that control GUI based
applications (in other words you don't have to make them script
applications with the attendant overhead and side effects).
In addition to being able to schedule scripts (AS, shell, and perl)
and applications at set times and intervals, Script Timer can also
trigger actions at the start and end of idle time, and you can use
one AppleScript script to schedule another action on the fly (that is
decide which action to take and when to take it based on the outcome
of your script).
Regards,
Don
