Scuse my moronic outlook, but that behaviour strikes me as so monumentally stupid that I never even considered trying it. Something like "make new window" would seem to be the "norm" for AppleScript syntax. This is kind of like expecting Quark to spawn a new document every time you say


tell application "QuarkXPress"
 make new story blah at blah with data blah
end tell

Making windows in Terminal actually used to work the "right" way in either 10.1 or 10.2.
