I would like to extract a large number of text pages produced by an OS 9
program
Which? (That might help, if one of us also use(s/d) it.)
The Oxford English Dictionary client for the Mac.
An ancient program - no OS X version around...
The information given is colour-coded - and I'm
interested in the different spelling variants of
the words for each entry, plus the time-spans for
the variants in the history of English.

Which? (We won't suggest that.)
Well, for example, running a QuicKeys script that
actually selects the text and copies it to the
clipboard. It turned out that the first character
on the page was sometimes not included - for
whatever reason... And as I said, saving it from
within the program won't work as the colours are
not preserved.
it's absolutely necessary for what I need to do that
the font/colour information is preserved.
There are others here with more <<styl>>, but it sounds like that is what
you want. Check into "styled text" instead of "text".
OK, will do.
If all you need is the _presentational_ view, with "font" and other style,
then why not just snapshot the view you want? Or PDF it?
I guess you want the editable text and the retained style, however.
Yes, I need the text in order to be able to
post-process it with Perl (after conversion to
RTF or HTML, probably).
