Please let us know about "writeable" and "writable".

Mhm - in this case the OED won't keep the dentist
away, I'm afraid. ;-) It just says "variant form
of 'writable'" - thereby perhaps suggesting that
"writable" is the standard form. But the verb
"write" itself has about 20 different variants
that are found over the past 1000 or so years.
And that's the type of information I'm after. ;-)
