You mean alternate spellings in a body of text over time, as opposed to all the ones that occurred on the a given day of the week?

Please let us know about "writeable" and "writable".

Because it is causing me some diachronic aches of the toches.

Mhm - in this case the OED won't keep the dentist away, I'm afraid. ;-) It just says "variant form of 'writable'" - thereby perhaps suggesting that "writable" is the standard form. But the verb "write" itself has about 20 different variants that are found over the past 1000 or so years. And that's the type of information I'm after. ;-)
