You exaggerate!

> set theFile to "hfsPathToClipping"
That's supposed to be the actual HFS path to the clipping. The script would
magically work if perchance you had a clipping called "hfsPathToClipping" in
your root folder, try it now!

Sorry to obfuscate, but looks like in my laziness I wrote that since you
can't drop a clipping into Script Debugger and get the path, it pastes the
clipping text instead!

Can't advise on the rest, but good luck!
