That's probably my fault, Brian.

Although I'm in digest mode, I sometimes check the web archives to see the most recent messages. If I find something there that I feel like responding to, I run a script that parses data from the current Safari page to create a new email message in Mail.

The problem might be that messages generated in this way don't contain all the information that regular replies do (such as In-Reply-To headers, for example). I suspect that's why Mail, as well as the list Archives, may sometimes have a bit of difficulty keeping track of all the messages in a particular thread.

(Since this reply was produced in the same way, it probably won't be grouped correctly, either.) ;-)

I apologise for any confusion this approach might cause. I'll look into this further to see if the script involved can be improved in some way.

Anyway, I don't suppose the odd duplicated reply is a problem - since I imagine OPs would rather see several answers than none at all... :-)
