Apparently, I inadvertently saved a script as run only and now I can't read it.

I thought I was just Saving As under a different name, but somewhere along the line, I saved my script as run only.

Does anyone know a way to recover the script into an editable form again?

Sorry John, there isn't a way to recover the text of a run-only script. Do you have a backup?

I thought it was a backup. I'd saved it as an app and kept the script for further development. Somehow, it got saved in run only format.

Doesn't anyone have a way to decompile a script? I don't care much if I have to rename the variables, I'm just not sure how to decode the code.

Actually, if I look at it with BBEdit, the variable names remain. it's deparsing the code I can't do.

Sounds like a great project for somebody better than me.
