I would like to try to find and delete duplicate records in Address Book. Using basic information like name or address won't do it as the duplicates have been long resident and some have been updated.

The ideal way to handle this would be to copy the fairly large address book person record but remove fields which contain record- unique info (like ID and vcard).

Well, first of all, the address book doesn't have records; it has properties.

But I don't understand what you want to keep and what you want to remove. Exactly which data do you want to compare?
