Hello,
Call me picky, but I want my windows in OSX to "remember" how they looked
from the last time I open them. This is a reasonable expectation in the
Mac world...at least prior to OSX.
I find that I end up opening the Applications folder a lot, and so I find
myself constantly resetting to my desired appearance:
- List view
- Column 1 is NAME, width wide enough to read most names
- Column 2 is VERSION, width wide enough to read all version numbers
- No Toolbar (right-hand side icon view)
- Window sized and placed to show only columns 1 and 2
I noticed that other windows will retain my settings but not the one for
the Applications folder. Why doesn't it retain this info, like other
Finder windows do?!
So, I attempted to write an AppleScript to do this for me, since I'm very
tired of repeating this activity.
Placement and size of the window is not a problem, but unfortunately, it
seems that there is no way to control the ordering and width of the
columns of a Finder Window in list view
Has anybody worked through this particular exercise?
Regards, Taylor
