Yes, printing from the finder is only recently been re-introduced. In this case you need to tell app preview to print the pdf. That should work.
tell app “Preview” to print alias thedownload
tell app “finder” to delete file download
That last word should, of course, be ‘theDownload’.

Alas, that won’t do... Preview enjoys pretending to print (and I don’t want to GUI script). I will try
Installing Tigger if there is no other choice. Just waiting for CCC to update to a Tiger authentifiable version.
BTW, do you know if there exists some direct UNIX print command that would do the trick ? I’m not very cconfortable with playing around with Unix, but I enjoy from time to time a good “do shell script”...
