I got this lovely badinage from Michelle:
Well, he could have spelled out "fuck".
Very droll. Michelle keeps her eye on the ball!
and later I got this from Todd:

This is not funny. It smacks of prurience and it is not Michelle's work.
It is a nasty piece of editing. There is a substantial alteration,
Michelle wrote "Well, he could have spelled out fuck." It is extremely
misleading to edit the text of Michelle's message in such a serious
manner and to attribute the altered version to her.
furthermore Todd said:
If you wish to continue flaming, do so off the list or you will be
banned. This is the only warning.
This sort of heavy handedness is bound to annoy other people. It riles
me.
I've enjoyed this stoush. It lets me appreciate the personality of the
participants more fully than their usual, to-the-point and on-topic
responses do. Some things that have been written may seem intemperate
but these are e-mail communications, boyo, we're not writing for
Disney™. Sure, it's a bit windy at times and it's very easy to get the
tone wrong. I do it myself (and just quietly, I'm a little bit keen on
my writing skills).
So, with that said, I'd like to ask who you are to come charging in
with your sleeves rolled up? Where's your playground badge? Did god die
and leave you in charge?
This is an international forum. The list's peers are by parts,
intelligent, talented, humourous, entertaining, shrill, sour, testy,
hot-headed and opinionated. Some of us are plain and dull. We don't
always play well together and there are a few nasty words. That doesn't
seem sufficient to warrant a display of peremptory power. Your
over-reaction, coupled with your misquotation and wrongful attribution
leaves a bad taste in my mouth! I think you've displayed very poor
judgement.
yours in disappointment,
