I don't. Authority is very carefully controlled. Having @apple.com in
your email address doesn't confer any special rights. Special rights
are given to a few people for specific reasons, such as being on
playground duty at the applescript-users creche. If Todd has some
legitimate power to control the list of participants then he should
make that plain. He shouldn't presume that we know who he is.

Immaterial. You could then say "Prove you're the listmom". Other than
booting you, how can he do that? Basically, if someone from Apple on an
Apple list posts something like that, it's assumed they have the right to.
In any event, it's Apple's list. They can play the listmom-ing anyway they
like.

Honestly, John, sometimes you remind me of the rain-man.

Anyone can post to the list. Paul says that it was Todd Fernandez that got my goat. That may be the case. Todd didn't provide any information beyond his first name and the content of the mail headers. Since he hasn't posted any further and better particulars I'm referring to him as Todd Aloff the bye-bye baby.

Regardless of the frightening power that list-moms are capable of wielding:
I expect list-moms to be aware that we don't know them on a first name basis.
I expect list-moms to be sensible and cordial.
I expect list-moms to behave in a fashion that warrants emulation.

In fact, I expect these things of everyone who posts to a list and I expect list-moms to do better. Whoever posted under the guise of Todd <email@hidden>, aka Todd Aloff the bye-bye baby, didn't meet any of my expectations.

I'm going to toddle off too. The last word is yours John. I look forward to a strong finish. ;-)

Goodbye, good night.
