Satimage-software is glad to announce the release of Numerics.osax, a
new free Scripting Addition providing advanced mathematical commands.
You can now program and debug a wide range of calculations in
AppleScript, yet experiencing the same computational speed as if you
were programming C or FORTRAN.
Numerics.osax provides commands in the following fields:
- linear algebra (eigenvalues, linear systems solving, etc.)
- signal processing (1d, 2d, and n-d FFT, cross- and
self-correlations, convolution, interpolation)
- image processing (import/export, particle analysis)
- 3D arrays (handling by reference, extraction, isosurfaces, stream lines)
The linear algebra and the FFT (and related) commands work on real as
well as complex numbers.
Most often, Numerics.osax is used in association with Satimage.osax
(another free Scripting Addition by Satimage-software): the latter
provides the basic mathematical functions on numbers and arrays
(arithmetics, trigonometry, operations on arrays and matrices, etc.)
and on polynoms.
Using Numerics.osax from Smile is better: Smile regular edition
provides a "display" command to display an array or a matrix as a
nice string, and Smile full edition provides easy commands to
visualize all the data concerned:raw arrays and matrices as well as
isosurfaces, etc.
