Sander, in response to your query above, I'm on Panther.9 and I have
experienced the Classic --> X 'spontaneous' change when moving a script
application from volume to volume.

In my case, my moves are usually from a USB external, where all my OS9
history lives (enshrined ;).  When I first noticed the switch, I found that
that drive had its 'Ignore ownership on this volume' flag set, and I just
_presumed_ that was the problem, somehow.

That is no longer the setting for that drive, but the problem does still
recur, although not in any pattern that I've deciphered.  It has not been
something that I've looked at very closely, and when it happens I just
manually deal with it.
