I'm not sure how well that works these days; like a few other pre-OS X MacPython features [1] it hasn't been maintained in a long time and I think it's getting senile. e.g. I've tried gensuitemodule to build glues for a few apps under Tiger without any luck. There may be some magical incantation that gets it to work without tripping over its various bugs, but I don't know what they are myself. And I don't think you'd want to use aetools directly.

[1] One of these days I must see about getting gsm and other dodgy/broken pre-OS X junk finally deprecated so that folk'll know what to avoid in future (the wheels of Python officialdom grind slow at times).
