iTunes: Playback Position and/or "Mark As Unplayed"

I'm beginning to expect the worst with regard to iTunes scriptability, but I wonder if anybody has any tricks for accessing the playback position of a bookmarkable track, and for changing the "mark as unplayed" state of a podcast file track.

Unfortunately, setting the "played count" to 0 does not "mark it as unplayed."

I'm looking for a solution that would allow me to go through my list of podcast tracks and mark everything to unplayed if its playback position is not beyond a certain threshold.

This would let me solve the annoying problem that if you even *start* listening to a Podcast on your iPod, it will be removed if you sync and have "only keep unplayed podcasts" turned on.

Daniel
