How do I know that a "WiFi HotSpot have been detected" ?

Hi all,

the subject says all:

I have a Macintosh laptop and I want to get a message - with or without sound (beep or English text) - that told me that "I detected a brand new WiFi HotSpot" when I found one while walking in the city. (*)

Actually, to get that information, I have to click in the Airport menu in the menubar.

What I want is to be able to display to me that my portable detected a new WiFi "network" and display its name (name and other hot spot information are not mandatory, but a plus).

BTW: no, I do not have money to invest in a "pocket hotspot detector" (but I now understand theyr purpose).

Any hint ?

Emile

* It can be useful too when the "in-house" wifi connection was lost and came back to work. I want something like "You got mail" translated to "You got a new WiFi HotSpot"... :)
