I might have put my finger on something; having noticed the redundancy of the updating calendars command (GUI scripted with System Events, left in the mail I sent to the list, and “reload calendars” that I’d edited out of the submitted script after noticing it didn’t seem to work)
Can anyone clarify what the “reload calendars” is supposed to do ? How could that have affected my script, sometimes stopping it from completely working when run from rules in Mail ? The reload was placed just before the end of the “tell iCal” block in the DefineFields_n_iCalOpts sub.
Don't use it. Whatever it does, it's not like 'save addressbook', which you might have thought. It doesn't save the database, and isn't needed for that. When I checked once, it seemed to load an earlier copy, removing stuff I'd just scripted, so was counter-productive. I don't know what it's really meant to do.
