Address Book scripting
Address Book scripting

I searched back through my archive of posts and someone posted a
similar query a while ago but it seems to have gone unanswered so I'm
trying again.
Address Book has the functionality to send an SMS message, but since
this is not accessible through any of the regular menus how can it be
done with AppleScript?
I can't see anything in the dictionary. And UI Scripting to get to the
contextual menu seems impossible since the whole panel of address
information is a single UI element, there is not a separate identifier
for the "moblie" button in the list of information.
I found a new plugin today for sending SMS messages without a bluetooth
phone. This is what I really want - for sending system alert messages
to myself when I'm in the field but the plugin just places another
option in the "mobile" menu and I can see no way to activate it with
AS.
Even if someone could confirm that this will be possible in 10.4 I will
be happy. Or if you know ANY way to send an SMS message without a
bluetooth connection.
Oh, by the way, iChat is not an option. I'm in the UK, you lucky North
Americans seem to have a different mobile business model than us in
Europe and the free text messaging supplied by iChat does not work in
the UK.
Thanks
Lee
