Yep.  I shall use it as an example of English-like programming for my casual users at the local user group.

These commands to tcsh:

  set fff = my:Mac:File:With:Colons:And.extension
  echo $fff:r
  echo $fff:e

return these lines:

  my:Mac:File:With:Colons:And
  extension

But I haven't the foggiest idea how to get AppleScript to run tcsh without creating a temporary file.
