venturing slowly but boldly into shell scripts....

the DATE  shell script  where the syntax is explained:

( BTW  its amazing how changing &y to %Y can change year from 05 to 2005

however the month ! &m gives my 02 but what is the code to ditch any zero in front ? so I get 2 stead of 02 ?

ok I know I can ditch in with normal applescript outside the shellscript

it isnt found on the url  above ?
