Quark 6-Relinking picture when not there

  • Subject: Quark 6-Relinking picture when not there

Designers send us Quark 6.1 documents with picture files linked whose filenames don't always conform to what our image
database requires. We have an AppleScript droplet that steps through all the pictures in the document and physically renames
our local copies of the naughtily named files and then relinks them (set image 1 of picture box n to file
"path:to:newly:renamed:file").

The problem is that on later cycles we receive reworked documents with the old wrong filenames again but at this point our
local images are cataloged away and no longer immediately available, so while there's no longer a need at this point to
physically rename the file we can't figure out how to change the link in the document - the "set image" command errors out
because the picture file's not there.

Is there a way to change the filename in this link without the file being around? Thanks very much...

- Dan
