Seems to work in 10.3.7

Thank goodness! Maybe it's time for me to move there... ;-)

Another thing about 10.3 is that 'path to frontmost application' actually
gets the real frontmost application when run from the system Script menu.

Thanks, Paul - I've never been entirely happy with the way System Events hogs the limelight here. That's got to be the clincher, then! :-)
