choose url problem

the script line:

choose URL showing Remote applications

should give a result containing an eppc:// url with a network IP number. Correct assumption?

and if the result and event log show:

tell current application
	choose URL showing Remote applications
		"eppc:/"
end tell

then something is wrong with the network, or some software. Right? something hung or stuck or plugged up.... because the script calling the eppc url does work, then sometimes it doesn't. For instance, after a restart of the target machine and a reset of the network this morning, the script worked again like lightening, but now after a few calls, it times out, and troubleshooting shows the call isn't even getting to the target app. Hmmm.

Any suppositions as to just what might be the problem on the target machine, a G3 tower running OS9 calling an app in RAM.

There is a crack in everything. That's how the light gets in.
