Send multiple commands to one Shell

Hello,

I am trying to figure out a way to get applescript to do a command (or insert text) into an open Terminal window (so I can do many commands in that one window).

The problem is I am on Mac OS X 10.1.5
(Before the Terminal was upgraded to include this capability in its dictionary).
Also becuase it's pre Jaguar, I can't use UI Scripting (to paste).
And the scriptable version of iTerm doesn't work on this version of OS X.

Were you folks ever in my situation when you were running pre Jaguar? What was your solution? I would be happy with an osaxen that would allow me to copy/paste or trying a different application, or anything. I've searched around, and although I would have thought something like this would have come up in the past, I haven't found anything. Thanks for your help.

Stephen Swift
