Furthermore, you can mix quoted parts of the path with unquoted parts:

akw /Volumes/scratch/TO SEND $ cd

akw ~ $ ls -dl /Volumes/scratch/'TO SEND'/somewhere
drwxr-xr-x 2 akw akw 68 12 Jan 11:10 /Volumes/scratch/TO SEND/somewhere
