im trying to mount an FTP volume but i would like to name it specifically. Is there anyway i can change the mounted volumes name? either as i mount it or after?

I think you're going to need to use a shell command for this -- "mount volume" doesn't provide any control over the mount point. mount_ftp(8) should do the trick, but I wasn't able to get it to do anything on my machine.
