That's funny, since I believe iPhoto's been scriptable from day 1. I get
that it's hard to justify the work sometimes, because it's hard to predict
what will happen.
But here's one that should be happening with Keynote, yet can't, not even
with Keynote 2 unless you want to do a LOT of XML coding, which is a lot
harder:

It allows you to take InDesign documents and move them into PowerPoint 2004.
They don't need to care about the file format. It just uses AppleScript. Do
you get all the benefits of an InDesign layout perfectly replicated in
PowerPoint? Of course not.
Would Keynote be able to do a better job? Probably. If Keynote's dictionary
wasn't a "Oh just give them something so they shut up" - level effort, then
you could have this.
Meanwhile, PowerPoint users just got a great new tool for better slide
creation using professional level tools that Keynote users aren't going to
get unless someone feels like doing a lot of XML work.
