Windows Media Player

Firstly I acknowledge that this may not be the best place to ask this question but I'll give anything a shot once.

Does anybody know where the temporary file (buffer) is kept by WMP 9 - [OS X 10.3.7].

The reason I am seeking it is because I have a number of scripts set up which record radio shows which are only available on WMP. These work just as they should. The problem comes when there is a dropout of the stream for any reason. If it drops out too long then WMP cuts it off and stops. I could resort to reconnecting periodically but I wanted something more elegant. My idea is to find the buffer file and use AS to check the date modified of the file in order to determine if the connection has dropped out and then re-establish it.

To date I have searched for invisible files across the whole system.
I've looked inside WMP.app
I've looked inside /tmp - oddly there is a directory at /tmp/501/TemporaryItems/Windows Media Player Temp/
but it is empty and the modified date only reflects the time when the initial connection was made. The access time is the same.

Okay, having written that I'm guessing it's in RAM somewhere. Don't know what the temp directory is for in that case though.
I fully expect this request to go unanswered but if you do have any ideas then please let me know.
Lee
