I also have some problems with folder actions, but instead of
displaying at error message, i have been write it to a log file, that
way i can always come back to it later.. look at the errors when I'm
ready

if an error is encountered, display an error message allowing you to

Hello
this is a good alternative formula.
While i am typing I wish to say that I am surprised by the thread about
.DS_Store files and Folder actions.
I use folder actions scripts under OSX since their return in Jaguar.
I never got any problem with them.
Of course, if some one delete it from its script, a new one will be
created and the script will be called. But it's the writer's fault.
Leave the file quiet and you will have no problem (at list on single
machines, perhaps it works differently on networked ones).
