Curl progress bar ?

is there some kind of progress bar for curl ?
something that users can see to be aware of a downloading file

I thought using 'curl -#' would do it....but it seems to be a no go :(

set the_command to "curl -# " & gbaseURL & gtheVolume & " -o " & quoted form of POSIX path of gFonovisaDMG do shell script the_command
