Considering the amount of attention that can be paid to such things, (I've
seen some employer/employee fights that all center around timeclock records.
"Ugly" isn't sufficient to quantify the ugliness of such battles.), you are
far better off finding a canned system that does the job, (timeclocks are a
well-solved problem, the chances of you finding one that works approach
99%), and spending your efforts on data retention and preservation methods.
The storage and "safeness" of such records become far more important than
you may think.
